Rarely Seen, Eye-Opening Photographs Of A Hunter Living In Greenland

Born in Slovenia, freelance photographer Ciril Jazbec traveled all the way to Greenland to capture the life of one of the hunters in northern part of the country.

The hunter, Uunartaq, lives in a settlement that consists of 250 settlers, who are accompanied by 500 sled dogs. He is one of the few subsistence hunters in the country.

Due to global warming, dogs are only allowed to sled a few months a year to help the hunters with their work. Many of them have had to become fishermen because of climate change.

Uunartaq has also expressed worry about the future—it seems that not many people want to continue this trade as the younger generation has moved into towns.
