Striking Chinese Typography From 1950s-60s, Made Without Computers

We feature typography often, but rarely do we shine the spotlight on work done in languages other than English—the book Chinese Art Typography Reprise suggests that we may be missing out on a lot of great work done in foreign languages.

Edited and designed by Lin Fan, this book contains a collection of striking calligraphy and typography art from the 1950s to 1960s, the book displays a wide range of inspiring styles that would have you looking at the pictograph-like Chinese characters in a different light.

These artworks are especially fascinating if you have an interesting in pre-computer age typography, before there are online font libraries and nifty menu options on Photoshop.
