Brilliant Ads Feature Humorous Client Feedback On Famous Novels

Before they became famous authors, did you know that F. Scott Fitzgerald, Joseph Heller and Salman Rushdie were copywriters at ad agencies?



These brilliant ads for The Winston Fletcher Fiction Prize, a fiction contest for copywriters, reference their early pre-novelist jobs and literary professions by humorously featuring client feedback on their famous novels.



Poking fun at their storylines and characters, the ads urge contestants to break free from the constraints of client briefs with the tagline, “Write for yourself. Not for a client.”



Entries for this year’s contest have since closed, but you can still check out the ads below.
