In light of the upcoming ‘Minions’ movie, PANTONE has created a hue based on the the lovable yellow characters from Despicable Me.
Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's Minions franchise has teamed up with PANTONE to create their first new color in three years. The companies plan to hold a press conference to unveil a line of fashion designs and products inspired by the movie and the color. These will be available at a Selfridges pop-up store in time for the film's premiere in the UK.
According to Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, the new bright color named ‘PANTONE Minion Yellow’ is one of "hope, joy and optimism".
