A Fashion Ad Campaign That Features Only Transgendered Models





For its Spring 2014 ad campaign, luxury fashion retailer Barneys New York has made the unconventional choice to use only transgendered models.



Titled “Brothers, Sisters, Sons and Daughters”, the project features 17 transgendered models from diverse backgrounds—these models were also asked to share the stories on the collection’s website.



Not only do these beautifully shot black and white photographs make a strong statement about the fashion industry’s issue of a narrowly defined beauty standard, they also help to raise money for transgender equality.



On 11 February 2014, 10% of the sales made in Barney’s flagship stores and online would be donated to the National Center for Transgender Equality.
