Magnificent Large-Scale Dioramas Of Cities Around The World Created From Wood

New York Planet

Spanish artist Isidro Blasco has been taking photos from the top of tall buildings around the world for the past seven years, and decided to turn them into magnificent large-scale dioramas for his series ‘PLANETS’.

Blasco glues his photos onto plywood and carefully cuts them into precise pieces before arranging them to form amazingly accurate cityscapes of New York City, São Paulo, Sydney and Madrid. Each circular diorama rests on a frame of wooden sticks and offers a lovely bird’s eye view of its respective city.

The dioramas also reveal differences in architecture style and density between the cities, from the towering skyscrapers of New York City to the older, historic buildings of Madrid and Helsinki. Looking at them, one can’t help but be blown away by the incredibly detailed collages, as well as the amount of time and effort that has gone into creating them.
