Viewed from afar, Swedish artist Yrjö Edelmann’s artworks look like beautiful but hastily-wrapped parcels displayed against a wall.
But take a step closer, and you’ll realize that they are, in reality, just one-dimensional oil paintings.
He painstakingly renders each crease, tear and paper texture as realistically as possible, and the trompe l’oeil effect created is where his talent and genius lies.
