The Ice Hills Hotel recently popped up in Hokkaido, Japan. It is part of an initiative by Creative Hokkaido to capture the island’s culture and creativity.
The beauty of this hotel lies in its transience—it will only last as long as the winter.
Unlike most hotels, this one has three unique suites designed by artists from the Clark Gallery. They are Toshihiko Shibuya, Leo Fujisawa, and Midori Kambara.
Kambara chose to create a white winter wonderland, while Shibuya gave her suite some color by placing fluorescent sheets behind blocks of ice. Fujisawa chose to focus on the bed—it looks like it is fit for a queen.
There is also a bar made of ice—having a drink there would be a novel experience.
