Chilean-born artist Maria Luisa Portuondo Vila has embarked on a spirited poster campaign called ‘Missing Love’ in an effort to locate a handsome stranger she spotted in the New York City subway system last November.
In a move that will soften the hardest of hearts, Vila plastered 300 posters featuring a sketch of the man all over the subway. Styled like MTA service advisories, they carry the bold declaration ‘Pay Attention NY! This is about my heart’. Her project has already garnered much attention from the media and online.
In a city of 8 million, Vila’s mission might seem overly ambitious but one cannot doubt it is romantic and creative. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, let’s hope she finds her mystery man before the 14th.
