Everyone has thoughts and opinions on love, whether they’re single or in a relationship, and one woman in New York City is inviting people to participate in a project centered around that most enigmatic of emotions.
‘LOVE’ is the theme of STORY, a retail space in New York City that “has the point of view of a magazine, changes like a gallery and sells things like a store.” Founder Rachel Shechtman collaborated with artist Curtis Kulig and Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman of 40 Days of Dating to create a temporary installation for the store. The goal is to get New Yorkers of all backgrounds to explore the different facets and stages of love, and to share their experiences.
Aside from having visitors reflect upon love, the store will run a host of love-themed activities led by DIY experts, professional wingmen, relationship writers, florists and others who will offer dating and relationship tips. Visitors can purchase candles and art kits from launch partners 12.29 and Love + Paint, chocolates from Richart Chocolates, and plants from interior plant company The Sill. Artworks from Kulig and other artists like Stefan Sagmeister, Paula Scher, Vault 49, and Si Scotti will be on sale as well.
For those interested in participating, the ‘LOVE’ installation runs till 23 March, well after Valentine’s Day. For more details on the events, check out the STORY website.
