Love it or hate it, you can’t deny the cultural impact that the now-defunct mobile game ‘Flappy Bird’ had on humanity.
The game was downloaded over 50 million times and received over 48,000 ratings, putting it on par with apps like Gmail. It also raked in $50,000 a day from a single in-game ad banner.
It had all the right ingredients for success, but it was suddenly pulled from app stores by it Vietnamese developer. The move ended the reign of ‘Flappy Bird’ and also gave many people their lives back.
To highlight its rise and fall, Startapp—with the help of NowSourcing—created an infographic.
Titled ‘Flappy Bird: A Legend In Its Own Time’, the infographic points out several interesting facts about the game and how it became an overnight sensation. It also features a timeline that illustrates the game’s success over time.
