Created by Italian engineers from the Perceptual Robotics Laboratory (Percro) in Pisa, this cool robot exoskeleton allows the user to lift up loads of up to 50kg on each hand.

This “Body Extender” is designed for workers to lift heavy loads in factories, and can also be used to remove debris in disaster-stricken areas.

According to the BBC, this exoskeleton is being developed for military, therapeutic and manufacturing purposes. This invention certainly reminds us of the robots from Transformers and Pacific Rim—wouldn’t it be awesome if we could use this technology to realize our science fiction dreams?
