Multi-media artist Babak Hosseiny has collaborated with photographer Jeffrey Vanhoutte in a disturbing photo illustration series entitled ‘Ô les mains’. The series was based on the idea of “hands as a symbol for a person’s wishes and fears”.
It was inspired by a line from a text by philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, which read, “If you do know that here is one hand, we’ll grant you all the rest”.
The bizarre illustrations feature hands and fingers emerging from unexpected parts of the human body, as if they were trying to control and take over the individual.
