France, 1980

Pop culture website So Bad So Good has compiled a collection of extremely rare, never-seen-before Star Wars movie posters, created by graphic designers from different countries around the world.
According to the website, these designers were employed to create posters in their native language to promote the movie in their countries.
They were given a “limited set of illustrations” to use and had “little creative direction”, which allowed their imagination to run free and design a poster that would best suit their local market.
Because digital distribution was not readily available in the past, these posters were rarely seen outside their native territories, and have since become highly sought-after collectors’ items.
Check some of them out below, or head over to So Bad So Good to view the rest.
