To celebrate the long and prosper 46th anniversary of Gene Rodenberry’s Star Trek, Google transformed its logo on its homepage into an interactive doodle.
The crew members from the Starship Enterprise were remade into Google’s letters—Captain James T Kirk is an ‘O’ and Spock is ‘G’—and honors some of the iconic science fiction series’ most popular episodes.
In the doodle, they’re first seated in the ship's control room.
But the doodle holds various Easter Eggs that will lead to more fun scenes, both on and off the ship.
One of the elaborate interactive animations feature Captain Kirk ‘O’: visitors can work the controls of the Transporter room and beam Kirk down to an otherworldly terrain to fight an alien, like in a familiar fight scene.
