At Leica’s special event yesterday in Cologne, Germany, Leica company owner Andreas Kaufmann revealed that Apple’s senior vice president of industrial design, Sir Jonathan Ive, will be designing a limited edition version of the Leica M.
The special edition camera will be ultra-limited as only one unit of the camera will ever be produced.
However limited it is, it will still serve a purpose—the camera will be auctioned off with the proceeds donated to charity.
No other details about the camera were revealed, according to PetaPixel.
The standard Leica M sports a 24-megapixel full-frame CMOS image sensor, Leica Maestro image processor, a 3-inch LCD screen and a metal chassis.
Sir Jonathan Ive is responsible for designing many of Apple’s iconic products, such as the iPhone, iPad, iMac and MacBook Pro.
