Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made his first public appearance since his company’s IPO at TechCrunch Disrupt yesterday.
At the talk, Zuckerberg said that Facebook has “one billion search queries on a daily basis and it’s basically doing that without trying”, according to Business Insider, and hinted that “Facebook is going to start trying”.
Business Insider reported Zuckerberg saying that search is increasingly headed towards answering people’s questions; and Facebook is "uniquely-position" to deliver answers, having a trove of user data.
A team of engineers at Facebook are working to improve the search engine.
“At some point, we’ll do it,” Zuckerberg said.
