Deceptively Dimensional Paintings That Pop Off The Canvas

California-based artist Brian Cooper creates paintings of wood, debris and other construction materials with perceptible depth and volume, which gives them a illusion of three-dimensionality.

Appearing to pop right off the canvas, these colourful depiction of lumber piles—which seem haphazardly arranged—are reflective of existential considerations about chaos.

These paintings—which resemble maze-like puzzles—make a statement about how beautiful disorder can be.
