British artist Bruce Munro—known for his spectacular installation art—is back with two new light installations.
Housed at the Waddesdon Manor,—a beautiful French chateau in Buckinghamshire, England—the artworks took a total of 100,000 recycled CDs to create.
“Angel of Light” is a precise circle laid out at the front of the house that is made of approximately 50,000 CDs, while “Blue Moon on a Platter” is constructed by pinning thousands of CDs to the undulating slopes of the amphitheatre.
With the use of LED candle lanterns and coiled optic fiber, the installations glow and shimmer as the light glides over the reflective surfaces of the CDs, making them a sight to behold in the night.
