Japanese audio-visual collective Salad—also known as “Particle At Rest”—has produced a fun project that will take the doldrums out of long train rides.

Using augmented-reality technology, the creative team has converted a train window into an interactive screen that allows passengers to insert whimsical objects into the passing scenery.

By touching the window, passengers can add images of hot air balloons, parachutists and cyclists into the scene outside that moves with the train in real-time.
