It’s official—Google Maps for the iOS is finally back!

As mentioned earlier today, AllThingsD reported that Google had plans to release the Maps app tonight—and as it turns out the rumor was true.

Google Maps for iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and 5, iPod Touch (3rd to 5th generation) and the iPad, will come with these new features:

1. Navigation Beta

Get voice-guided, turn-by-turn navigation whether you are driving, walking, or taking public transport. Google Maps will estimate your travel time to your destination based on live traffic info. Available in selected countries.

2.Transit

Google Maps is now able to find transit routes by trains, trams and subways. Users can also find pick-up locations, departure times, estimated travel time and travel fare.

3.My Location and Compass Mode

Users can use ‘My Location and Compass’ mode to orient themselves on the map.

4.Walking Directions Beta

If you enjoy walking, Google Maps will find your walking route and give an estimated time to your destination.

Besides these features, Google Maps also allows iOS users to access Street View, Google Earth, and Google Places.

Google Maps for the iOS can be downloaded from the iTunes Store for free.
