Infographic: A Hobbit’s Home Value

If given the opportunity, we’re sure most Lord of the Rings fans would love to move into ‘Bag End’—the iconic home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins.

But before you start packing, Movoto Real Estate has created an infographic that highlights the cost of purchasing the famous hobbit hole.

According to the infographic ‘There & Back Again: A Hobbit’s Home Value’, Bag End has a ‘ginormous’ floor area of 4,500 square feet—which includes a potato garden, three bedrooms and a variety of different cellars and pantries.

In order to find the value of Bag End, one must also consider the location and find a comparable home to determine the price per square feet.

By taking US$296/square feet as the average price, Bag End is estimated to be worth $1.33 million—a small price to pay, considering you’re moving into the home of the hero who saved Middle Earth.
