To wrap up its fabulous year-long 100th anniversary celebration, Oreo is going out with a bang by sending out 5,000 cookies to the Antarctica, the latest and last continent to be “conquered” by the iconic American snack.
The cookies were delivered to the scientists living at Palmer Station in the Antarctic Peninsula, who would no doubt welcome the delicious cream-filled biscuits.
Decked out in earmuffs to fight the cold, the brand mascot—the adorable Oreo Man delivered the cookies to Dr James McClintock, who said that “having the chance to enjoy an OREO cookie and glass of milk is like having a little piece of home here at the station”.
Together with edible treats, Oreo has also donated a solar-powered Penguin Cam to the team at Palmer Station, which will allow children to watch the penguins in their natural habitat.
