Berlin-based designers Ying Zhang and Ida Thonsgaard have created a furniture set that can be folded like origami.
Called ‘Playtime’, it features a collection of chairs and tables made from “a thin layer of tessellated wood triangles, backed by a textile laminate”.
When the pieces aren’t folded, they lie completely flat—however, when assembled, they transform into “a three dimensional table or stool”.
The patterns on the surfaces were inspired by Japanese origami and Nordic textiles.
