Disturbing Sculptures Depict Women As Luggage

Responding to the discrimination she has faced throughout her life, Pakistani artist Nausheen Saeed has created a series of sculptures that depict women as baggage.

Saeed was, ironically, inspired by her family members who insinuated that girls are a “burden which should be packed off in marriage”.

Many of these 'women' look like they are literally packed into these luggages, showing how women are treated as objects by others.

Through these sculptures, Saeed also shows that these women, regardless of their position in society, belong to someone else.
