Incredibly Zen Sculptures of Human Figures Disintegrating

British artist Sukhi Barber has been drawn to ancient traditions of various cultures.

After her 12 year stay in Kathmandu, where she studied Buddhism, Barber started producing sculptures that embodied Buddist philosophy.

With many of her sculptures in a meditative position, Barber creates ‘holes’ in each one to reflect the aim of all Buddhists, which is to transcend their mortal bodies.

Barber’s aim is to use her sculptures to convey complex philosophical concepts, and to explore humanity’s “hidden potential”.
