Prison Hotel Lets You Live Like An Inmate

Built around 1900, the Karosta Prison in Latvia is considered to be even more impressive than Alcatraz Prison in the USA.

Lodging at the Karosta Prison takes place in a prison cell, sleeping on either old mattresses on wooden boards or iron bunk beds. A “prison meal” is even included!

Visitors can take an interactive tour of the prison, where each visitor takes the part of a prisoner, experiencing an authentic recreation of Soviet-era prison life.

However, this option is not for the faint-hearted. The prison requires visitors to sign a release form acknowledging that they will be treated as a prisoner, complete with verbal abuse and physical exercise.
