Massachusetts-based designer Ryan of Midnight Umbrella has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for a map of the U.S.A that he has created—the entire map is made up of colorful geometric shapes.
Inspired by the Tangram Puzzle, an ancient Chinese puzzle that consists of seven flat shapes, the “Tangram States” map creatively reimagines each state as being made up of a collection of sharp-edged blocks.
As part of the Kickstarter campaign, the designer has also produced a limited edition run of screen printed posters that feature “five bright and punchy solid spot colors”.
