If you’ve ever had the problem of opening a bottle of wine only to find that the cork won’t fit back on, one man has come up with the perfect solution in the form of wine ‘condoms’.
According to creator Mitchell Strahan from Mckinney, Texas, they work just like normal condoms; simply roll it over the wine bottle opening. They’re a portable, lightweight solution to protecting your wine and Strahan touts them as more effective than wine stoppers as they cover the rim completely. He apparently got the idea from his mum, who came home one day with a bottle of wine sealed with plastic wrap.
The idea is so simple that it is hard to believe nobody has thought of it before. It has received the enthusiastic backing of wine lovers and has exceeded its target of US$7,500 on Kickstarter.
Aside from being a fun way to protect your precious bottles of wine, the wine condoms make for a great conversation starter.
