Film-maker Fernando Livschitz has previously transformed New York City into a surreal amusement park with his wonderful flying roller coasters—now, he has unleashed a collection of larger-than-life wind-up toys on Buenos Aires.
His latest short film, titled Wind Up Bots, stars a group of gigantic wind-up toys shuffling mechanically down streets and across roads as the human beings watch.
Often dwarfing people, and sometimes even cars, these charming retro-style toys are inserted into the everyday flow of city life—the toy race cars drive alongside real vehicles while drum-beating robots march down the sidewalks.
