Vancouver-based illustrator Katie So has a funny and poignant series of illustrated self-portraits depicting her fears and insecurities about life.
Created over “six months of self-loathing”, ‘Destined for Misery’ features So lying awake in bed at night unable to sleep, being buried alive, reminiscing about former lovers and worrying her work isn’t good enough. Most people will identify with her illustrations, in particular ‘Slouch Life’ which not only succinctly sums up the working day of a creative but applies to any occupation too. Honest and raw, her drawings highlight the feelings of inferiority and vulnerability that everyone struggles with.
