To better understand the job-seeking attitudes of professionals worldwide, online recruitment website LinkedIn collaborated with Lou Adler to survey over 18,000 people in 26 countries for its Talent Trends 2014 Report.
The results revealed some enlightening facts about the factors that motivate professionals to change jobs, as well as their thoughts and feelings on job satisfaction and career evaluation. For example, they are generally happy with their jobs, with 27% stating they are ‘very satisfied’, 45% stating they are ‘somewhat satisfied’ and only 4% stating that they are ‘very dissatisfied’.
However the findings also indicate that despite their contentment, most would still consider a career change, with the top three motivators for switching jobs being better compensation and benefits, good work-life balance, and opportunities for advancement.
There are also interesting differences in how people around the world rank job benefits–professionals in the United States and Italy regard money as very important, while those in Finland and Denmark favor better skill fit and learning opportunities respectively.
In the race to attract and retain talent in our globalized economy, human resource professionals will no doubt find this infographic useful in crafting their hiring policies.
