Paper may not seem like the best material for use in a camera, but Leica thinks otherwise with its newly announced “Paper Skin Fedrigoni” X2 camera.

Teaming up with premium paper-maker Fedrigoni, the cult camera brand would be producing just 25 of this pristinely white camera—instead of the traditional leather covering, it has been clad with the very special “Constellation Jade” paper.

Not only can this high-tech paper withstand intensive abrasion, it can also withstand extreme temperatures up to -40 and 158°F—according to Leica, it would function better than even the best leathers.

This limited edition camera comes in a stunning book-inspired packaging and would definitely be a coveted collector’s item—however, it is not yet known when and for how much it would be available.
