The Aromafork is a unique invention by Molecule-R that lets you “taste” a variety of foods by smelling its scent.
Most of the food that we taste is actually based on smell, and this fork mixes what we place on our tongue with what we can smell on this utensil. This creates new flavors, and we are able to try new dishes and food combinations through this bit of technology.
The fork seems simple as it only has a depression on the handle. This depression helps the utensil hold blotting paper, and users place a drop of what they would like to “taste” on it. The kit that accompanies the fork is filled with many flavors—you can change the way your food tastes by smelling different scents while eating.
Molecule-R President Jonathan Coutu stated that the idea of this fork came to him when he was at a food pairing class, and he immediately “thought of a device that would provide a flow of aroma upon inspiration.”
It certainly seems like this fork will help us test out different food combinations before actually cooking and eating them.
This device will be available later this year, but the price has not been disclosed.
