Aerial Love by Ankit Narang
Last month, National Geographic invited photographers from around the world to submit images that represent love through their online photo-sharing platform Your Shot.
The project, titled ‘Love Snap’, received hundreds of images, out of which 27 were chosen.
One particularly striking shot is an aerial photo of an Indian couple lying on grass amidst a sea of rose petals. Titled ‘Aerial Love’, it was taken by photographer Ankit Narang a few days before their wedding. National Geographic’s Senior Photo Editor Elizabeth Krist likened it to a Bollywood scene, saying that the angle and the position of the lovers, coupled with the light and background, gave it a blissful, idyllic feel.
Other memorable photos include a little girl painting while her cat looks on, a father embracing his newborn daughter, and a close-up of a grandmother’s hand wearing two rings.
