Recreated Image

Renowned British street artist Banksy—who has been awfully quiet since the end of his NYC residency—has recreated one of his most recognizable stencils, ‘Girl With A Balloon’, to raise awareness for the conflict in Syria.
In this new image, she is seen wearing a headscarf, and when clicked, it leads visitors to a page with the hashtag #WithSyria, which happens to be the official slogan of a campaign lead by Oxfam, Amnesty International, and Save the Children.
According to Animal New York, the image has been described as a “well-intentioned move”, but it also received criticism for being stereotypical and “more mainstream”.
