New York-based artist Sougwen Chung explores "transitional edges" with an animated typeface.
Her project, titled "Kinecdysis", is inspired by the Greek word "ecdysis", which means to "take off" or "strip off"—the process of morphing and shedding off.
The font breaks down into skeletal patterns and hypnotic forms depicting "the modicum of our memory".
