Eerie Photographs Of An Abandoned Veterinary School In France

French photographer Romain Veillon recently captured some eerie photographs of an abandoned veterinary school in France.

The school, which is unnamed, was left behind when the students moved to a more modern building.

Ravaged by time and neglect, it fell into disrepair, with decaying lecture halls and old, yellowing textbooks covered in a thick layer of dust. However it is the basement where things make a turn for the sinister.

Described as a “cabinet of horrors”, it contains jars of animals and animal parts preserved in formaldehyde.

The ominous and mournful air makes you feel as if you have stumbled upon the monstrous animal experiments of Doctor Moreau.

Check out some of Veillon’s photographs below and view the entire series here.
