Famous Architects Create Designer Bus Stops In Austria

Zwing bus stop by Smiljan Radic

Famous architects from all over the world were invited to design bus stops in the Austrian village of Krumbach in exchange for a free holiday there.

Thanks to the invitation, the village can now enjoy waiting for buses at these sleek bus stops designed by the likes of Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, Chinese architect Wang Shu, Belgium's Architecten de Vylder Vinck Taillieu studio and many others.

Although the designers used mostly wood and glass as the main materials, each structure is uniquely designed.

This collaboration was made possible by the local authorities as a means to promote mobility and cultural connectedness in the rural area.
