Hyperrealistic Oil Paintings Depict The Wrinkled Flesh Of The Artist's Hands

New York-based artist Edie Nadelhaft's "Flesh" series of oil paintings was created through exploring the human's biological surfaces up close.

The hyperrealistic paintings takes reference from photographs of the artist's hands blow out of proportion, magnifying the contours, lines and skin folds of her hands.

Behind these rather disturbing paintings stands a strong message of "vitality and vulnerability that characterize the human's physical existence", which is slowly disappearing with the digital age.
