Seattle-based designer Anthony Neil Dart made a series of gorgeous typographic posters featuring “5 phrases to live by” from graphic design legend Massimo Vignelli.
The inspiring quotes are printed out boldly in one of Vignelli’s favorite typefaces, Helvetica. Titled “Vignelli Forever”, this series was made in recognition of the design icon’s “outstanding contribution to the world of graphic design”. The famous phrases that have been featured include “One life is too short for doing everything” and “If you can design one thing, you can design everything”.
Each poster also includes a short introduction to Vignelli’s life and work—for instance, he designed the New York City subway map in 1972.
Massimo Vignelli is now gravely ill and has requested letters from the people whom he has influenced or inspired in his lifetime—if you would like to write him a letter, find his mailing address here.
