Suitcases That Open Up To Reveal Beautiful 'Portable Cities' Made From Fabrics

Chinese contemporary artist Yin Xiuzhen transforms ordinary suitcases into the series "Portable City"—inspired by her travels, "the suitcase becomes the life support container of modern living".

The project is a beautiful construction made out of discarded clothes and fabrics. To further enhance the individual cities showcased, the suitcase also carries a set of speakers playing its own soundtrack and a small peep hole to see the map of the constructed city.

Some of the cities featured in her installation were Seattle, New York and her very own hometown, Beijing.
