Instagram has released version 3.0 of its popular photo-sharing app that introduces users to an updated profile page and a brand new function called ‘Photo Maps’.
Photo Maps is a geotagging feature that arranges photos together based on location.
Instead of viewing photos through the usual photo stream, users can now view them based on where they were taken.
Users can even view their followers’ Photo Maps by clicking the button found on their profile.
However, if users are uncomfortable with sharing their location, they can always remove individual photos from the map or turn the geotagging feature off altogether.
According to Instagram, version 3.0 also has a number of minor usability improvements such as increased responsiveness when browsing, infinite scrolling in feeds and redesigned pages.
