After unveiling New York’s taxi of tomorrow, Japanese car brand Nissan has unveiled a new fleet of London ‘black cabs’.

Liken to NYC's Nissan Taxis, the ‘Nissan NV200’ London Taxi will be wheelchair-friendly and offer reduced carbon dioxide outputs compared to current taxi models; a glass roof for better sightseeing; sliding doors; bigger luggage space; comfortable seating for five passengers; bigger head and leg room; and USB ports for charging mobile devices.

The minivan is powered by a 1.5-liter engine with 89 horsepower and a 6-speed manual transmission, to help it travel 53.3 miles on a gallon of fuel.

The vehicles will hit London’s streets in spring 2014.

An all-electric version that will emit zero emissions is currently undergoing trials, and is also expected to be available around the same time.
