It would not be difficult to mistake London-based photographer Jason Tozer’s pictures of soap bubbles for space probe photographs taken by NASA—except that they are much more vividly colored than any regular planet.
Creating bubbles on on a wet ring, Tozer has gone to great length—including the construction of a perspex dome for better lighting—to capture the complexity and beauty of a soap bubble’s surface.
Occasionally blowing down a straw to excite the bubble and make its colors swirl to create different patterns, the photographer mixes household detergent with glycerine to create a concoction that produces longer lasting bubbles.
