Crayons need not just be the doodling tools of young children—they can also be the creative medium of talented professional artists.
American artist Jessica Kerbawy has taken ordinary wax crayons and turned them into vividly-colored, unconventional art pieces.
Using a heat gun, the artist melts down the crayons and either allows them to drip freely down the canvas, or manipulates the liquid wax into gorgeous patterns.
The crayons—which are left stuck on the canvas—add a quirky, refreshing touch to the finished piece.
