PepsiCO—the parent company of Pepsi and Lay’s—has combined two of its brands into a single product: Pepsi-chicken flavored Lay’s potato chips.
According to AdAge, it describes the flavor as “vaguely similar to barbecue with a sugary aftertaste” and taste of Pepsi is “fleeting and lacks fizz”.
The launch of this oddly paired flavored chips was also much bigger than any previous flavors in the China market—which includes the likes of lemon tea-, cucumber- and hot-and-sour fish soup-flavored potato chips.
