Clever ‘Head Hammock’ Offers Some Privacy On Economy Class Flights

For those of us who could not afford to fly First Class, or even Business Class, the Economy Class is a dreaded necessary evil for getting from Point A to Point B—cramped in between strangers, these flights are usually uncomfortable and completely lacking in privacy.

To make these trips more bearable for travelers, a group of graduate students from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel has designed a new contraption named the “B-Tourist Strip”, “an elastic seat attachment that functions like a hammock for your head and neck”.

This versatile and portable device packs easily into your carry-on, and could be wrapped around your headrest and the seat in front of you to create a privacy screen—plastic rings at the sides let the user “pull down” this screen when he wants to.

Coming with a handy storage slot, this nifty elastic strip can also be converted into a cradle for your head and neck while you nap—read more about the B-Tourist Strip here.
