Last month, NASA held an open call inviting people to submit selfies for Earth Day 2014.
Over 50,000 people from every continent submitted their pictures through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
NASA chose 36,422 images and created a 3.2-gigapixel composite photograph that shows what the earth looked like on Earth Day.
