A 24-year-old cat by the name of Poppy was crowned the “world’s oldest” feline by the Guinness World Records. It lives in Bournemouth, England, with its owner, Jacqui West, her husband, two children, and four other cats.

Poppy eats dried and canned food, and is sometimes given KFC chicken, kebabs and fish and chips. Although the cat is blind and deaf, it is quite feisty—it would bite the ears of other cats if they tried to steal its food.

Its owners have no idea why this cat has lived so long, and hopefully Poppy will celebrate more birthdays to come.

The previous record holder for this title was a 23-year-old Kansas feline named Pinky. The oldest cat to have ever lived was named Creme Puff, who lived to the age of 38.
